Dubai Metro inks contract with Nedaa Corporation to maintain wireless network of Red & Green Lines

The Dubai Metro operator, Serco Company, has signed a one-year renewable contract with Needa Professional Communication Corporation whereby the Corporation will cater to delivering technical services and applications related to the maintenance of the Wireless communication network of the Dubai Metro on both the Red and Green Lines.

The contract was signed in the premises of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) by Chris Rayner, Managing Director of Serco; and Mansour Bu Osaiba, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nedaa Corporation; in the presence of Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, Acting CEO of Rail Agency; and Ahmed Mohammed Shareef, Director of Rail Maintenance from the RTA , in addition to Abdullah Al Falasi, Director of Commercial Affairs from Nedaa Corporation, and a host of executives from the concerned parties.

Abdullah Yousef Al Ali said: “The RTA welcomes the cooperation and coordination with the leading entities in the community, particularly as Nedaa Corporation is among specialist entities in the field of providing wireless telecommunication solutions; which will contribute to upgrading the metro communication network in keeping with the highest standards. Such cooperation reflects the integrated efforts and the keenness to share practical experiences and adopt leading practices, besides providing top class services in the field of security and safety.”

The contract provides for both parties to make their level best towards achieving the set objectives where Nedaa Corporation will undertake maintenance works of the wireless communication network of all metro stations on both the Red and Green Lines. This covers periodic and corrective maintenance of 50 transmission stations, and monitoring these statins around-the-clock to cope with any malfunctioning or emergency failure in a way that ensures the efficient and high quality functionality, besides revamping the telecommunication network of the metro stations.
