More than 367 million people used public transportat in Dubai last year, according to figures released yesterday by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
There were more than 109 million metro users, up from 69 million the previous year.
The RTA said it was working towards reducing the number of private cars on the roads by increasing the number of people using public transport to 30 per cent by 2030. It is currently 13 per cent.
The RTA’s 21 vehicle licensing centres registered 1,137,750 vehicles last year – an average of 3,500 a day. More info
