The proposed purple line of Dubai Metro that would link the Dubai International airport with Al Maktoum airport in Jebel Ali is still in the pipeline, according to the Chairman of RTA.
“The Purple Line is still part of the rail master plan, which is revised every five years, and it is also part of the general transport network which is valid until 2020,” Mattar Al Tayer Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of RTA, was quoted as saying by Arabic daily Al Khaleej.
Al Tayer said that RTA is keen on implementing all the proposed infrastructure projects and once the government gives a go ahead on the purple line, the work on the implementation of the plan would start.
