Dubai Safari’s sprawling 119-hectare animal kingdom is 90 percent complete, Safari chief Tim Husband told Arabian Business.

It will not be ready for the anticipated National Day opening..

“I doubt very much it will be ready by December 2, we still need a few more staff and need to finish the cleaning up areas and putting out graphics, but it’s going to be very close around that time,” he said.

As the finishing touches are being made, Dubai Municipality officials visited the new safari on Monday to “inspect the work progress,” the Dubai Municipality twitter account reported.

A video tweeted on Monday showed Municipality Director Hussein Lootah touring exhibits in the $270 million (AED1bn) new zoo accompanied by other officials.

“HE Eng Hussain Nasser Lootah, inspected the work progress of #Safari_Dubai Project,” the Municipality tweeted.

“During his visit, he was accompanied by Dawood Al Hajri, Mohammed Al Mutaiwei and a number of officials, engineers and project managers,” the tweet said. More info
