Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai issued Law No 13 of 2014 amending bylaws of Law No 22 of 2006 regarding traffic tolls in the emirate.

In its first article, the new law amends a bylaw in the old law, stating that Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority will collect from vehicle owners a traffic toll fee whenever they pass through a Salik toll gate, regardless of whether the vehicle is registered in Dubai or any other emirate.

The fee will be collected from vehicle owners’ accounts as per procedures specified in this law’s executive regulations.

The third item of the law states that vehicle owners must use the remaining balance in their account within five years from the date of the last recharge or payment made by passing through a Salik toll gate. More info
