RTA’s Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has recently launched “Al Khair Ride” initiative for the People of Determination in cooperation with Al-Futtaim Motors Company, the strategic partner of RTA’s Foundation.
It involves offering this community segment free rides throughout 2018 on board People of Determination taxis equipped with added technologies, safety and privacy.
To this effect, an agreement was signed by DTC and Al-Futtaim Motors in the presence of Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, RTA’s Board Member and Chairman of Charity Foundation, Dr Yousef Al Ali, CEO of DTC and Vice-Chairman of RTA’s Charity Foundation, among other senior officials from both parties.
“The People of Determination can avail ‘Al Khair Ride’ initiative by calling 042080808 where the service is run at Dubai airports round the clock,” said Dr Yousef Al Ali. “Al Khair Ride is part of DTC’s plans in response to the UAE’s ‘Year of Zayed’ and RTA’s Foundation initiatives. The initiative also encapsulates the lifelong values of the late founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It also comes in support of Dubai Government’s initiative of ‘My Community is a Home for All,’ aimed at turning Dubai into one of the world’s most disabled-friendly cities by2020,” he continued.
“DTC attaches paramount attention to the People of Determination to identify their needs and aspirations to ensure their comfort aiming to come up with improved initiatives and means of delivering smooth services to them. The DTC has dedicated taxis for this category and fitted them with modern technologies of lifting wheelchairs in a safe and hassle-free manner. These cabs are also driven by highly trained drivers on assisting People of Determination,” he added.
Yousef Al-Raeesi, CEO of Government Affairs at Al-Futtaim Motors, said, “This initiative is part of the efforts to reinvigorate the noble values instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed, the symbol of wisdom, goodness and generosity. It also illustrates our societal commitment towards the ‘People of Determination’ to satisfy their needs, and overcome all challenges they face. The initiative also encourages benevolence and humanitarian work among public and private entities. Moreover, the cooperation with DTC coaxes a quantum leap that opens new vistas for future initiatives, projects and plans. More
