Dubai's beach canteen project launches with 10 homegrown restaurant pop ups

“Beach Canteen,” a Dubai Food Festival (DFF) concept has announced its 10 homegrown restaurant pop-ups which will take place in Kite Beach from February 6 to 28.

The pop-up restaurants will be shipped in containers to Jumeirah’s newly renovated Kite Beach. Restaurants will include Emirati cuisine brand Mama Tani and Mediterranean kitchen Kris Kros.

This year’s DFF, a 23-day food event, will focus on the UAE’s emergence as a culinary destination, as well as on homegrown restaurants and concepts.

To accommodate the theme, the restaurants included in Beach Canteen will all be homegrown concepts created by the 200 various nationalities that live in Dubai.

The event will feature several entertainment experiences such as live music by local bands and DJS as well as celebrity chef appearance by the likes of Sanjeev Kapoor and Jason Atherton.
