Eid holidays: Free parking in Dubai, Abu Dhabi from today

To update the public about its latest work developments during holidays, the Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi announced that it is free to park vehicles in surface public parking bays during the days of Eid Al Fitr starting from Thursday 29 Ramadan 1436H (16 July 2015) to Shawwal 3, 1436 Hijri.

1In the same context, DoT called upon its customers not to park their vehicles in prohibited areas and not to block vehicles or traffic flow. DoT has also urged public to adhere to the regulations regarding the resident permit parking bays from 9pm to 8am.

DoT stated that its HQ Customer Care Centre along with its customer care centres in Central Market (Al Souq Al Markazi), Al Muroor Street, Al Falah, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abu Dhabi Commercial Properties (ADCP) and Etisalat will be closed as of Thursday 16 July 2015 – 29 Ramadan 1436H – to 3 Shawwal 1436H.

The DoT Customer Care Centres will resume work on 4 Shawwal 1436H.

Parking is generally free in Dubai and Sharjah too during the public holidays.

A Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) customer services representative said paid parking zones all over Dubai will be free of charge, except for the Fish Market and the multi-level parking lot during Eid Al Fitr holidays from 29th of Ramadan till 3rd of Shawwal. More info
