Five stations on the Dubai Metro’s Red Line are expected to open next month, the emirate’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has said.
According to The National daily, the RTA said at a press conference that The Business Bay, First Gulf Bank, Sharaf DG, Jumeirah Lake Towers and Nakheel stations will open in mid-October.
As a result, just three of the 29 stops on the line remain to be completed, the daily added.
Currently, around 120,000 passengers use the network, which opened in September last year.
The network’s second line is scheduled to begin operations in August 2011, 17 months after its initial launch date of April this year.
