Iran allocates $605m to national railroad development plans

The Iranian administration has allocated 15 trillion rials (about $605 million) to the development of the national railroad network, ISNA quoted the Iranian Railways Company’s managing director as saying on Saturday.

Some 7.37 trillion rials (about $297 million) has already been allocated to the national railroad development plans, Mohsen Pour Seyyed Aqaii stated.
The Iranian parliament (Majlis) has recently approved a bill, based on which 10 percent of the National Development Fund’s assets can be invested in the rail sector, he mentioned.
In October, Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said that assets of the NDF amount to $32 billion. More info
