Dubai Media City service station, currently under renovation, will be the first among Emirates National Oil Company’s (Enoc) service stations planned to use solar power when it opens in June 2016, Emirates 24|7 can reveal.
“The Dubai Media City service station will be the first of the planned projects underway to showcase this sustainable technology. The new 120Kw photo voltage (PV) system will utilise solar energy to power the daytime electrical requirements at the station, thereby making it much more efficient and environmentally friendly for the overall community,” the company said in an emailed statement sent to this website.
The PV solar panels will be installed onto the main canopy of the service station to generate power along with the Dewa grid system.
“All renovated service stations will ensure safety, easier entry and reduced queuing at pumps. In addition to more dispensers, these stations will also have fully-fledged automotive services and retail stores, including Zoom and Autopro,” the company added. More info
