DUBAI // A new interchange at Al Yalayis Road on the E311 highway is now open to motorists.
Dubai Road and Transport Authority opened the Al Houdh Interchange, situated between Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Yalayis Road, on Saturday.
The interchange will ensure a smooth flow of traffic from Al Yalayis Road heading east to Dubai Investment Park and west to Sheikh Zayed Road and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority.
It will also help traffic headed north and south-bound on Mohammed bin Zayed Road to and from Abu Dhabi.
The interchange was the last phase of work to improve and widening Mohammed bin Zayed Road from Sharjah up to Al Houdh at a Dh1.91billion cost, said the Authority.
“The Al Houdh Junction project, which is situated at the western part of Dubai bordering the Arabian Ranches Interchange to the north, and the Truck Road to the south, is one of the key strategic projects on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Director General of the authority.
