More than 67,000 Gold Class Nol cards have been sold for Dubai Metro since the network launched in September, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Monday.
A total of 67,184 cards, which allow passengers access to a train’s Gold Class cabin, have been sold since September 9 up to the end of March – on average 9,592 a month, a statement said.
Ramadan Abdullah, director of the RTA’s Rail Operation Department, said the authority had seen a high uptake on the number of passengers preferring to travel in Gold Class
“Attracting considerable numbers of commuters is a testament to the high class of this cabin of Dubai Metro,” he said.
From April 15, trains will run ever 6-8 minutes instead of every 10 minutes, Abdullah said.
The metro operates 196 journeys each weekday from Saturday to Thursday, from 6am to 11pm, in both directions, and 112 journeys on Friday, from 2pm to midnight.
