The Federal Traffic Council on Wednesday recommended cancellation of the ban of trucks on Emirates Road in order to encourage drivers to use this road, and reduce congestion on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
The recommendation came during a meeting of the Federal Traffic Council, which was recently held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, headed by Major General Engineer Mohammed Saif Al Zafin, chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Operations, and members of the council.
The meeting discussed a number of important topics, including the statistics of traffic accidents at the state level and a comparative comparison with developed countries such as Sweden, Britain and Switzerland. More info
