Pink taxis will form a giant coloured ribbon formation to mark the launch of a new breast cancer awareness campaign in Dubai on Monday, January 11.
The campaign, which will be held at Thumbay Hospital, will feature 35 pink taxis to form a giant ‘pink ribbon’ in the hope of encouraging more women to check themselves for symptoms, as early detection of breast cancer encourages recovery.
Each female driver with the Dubai Taxi Corporation’s pink vehicles will be gifted Thumbay Hospital vouchers for free benefits such as gynecologist consultation, mammogram, blood sugar, blood pressure, BMI checks and dental consultation.
Dr Yousif Al Ali, chief executive of RTA’s Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: “We have always believed that we have a great social responsibility, and have acted accordingly by supporting social and humanitarian initiatives.
