Roads and Transport Authority has begun investigation into robbery complaint by a passenger, who claimed he lost his iPhone while riding the Dubai Metro.

According to Al Bayan newspaper, theft is becoming common on the Metro. However, a complaint broadcast on Al Bath Al Mubasher programme led to the RTA initiating quick action.

There are 3,000 cameras on the Metro that are linked to the central control room and the underground operations room. There are also 668 metro police officers on duty.

Meanwhile, Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of Board and Executive Director of RTA in Dubai, at the launch of the second session of the 12-month training programme said it aims to enhance leaderships skills among Emiratis. The training is in line with the strategic plan of RTA to boost human resources and attract increased competitiveness.
