Rail Agency holds Open Day to boost public transport

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently organized an open day and a joint workshop with its strategic including partners, developers and government entities to discuss several issues of common interest with the aim of upgrading the level of services, fostering mutual partnerships and attending t their feedback on performance improvement.

The meeting was attended by Adnan Al Hammadi, CEO of Rail Agency, Abdul Redha Abu Al Hassan, Director of Rail Planning and Development, Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Al Awar, the General Headquarters of Dubai Police, and several representatives of the strategic partners.

The Rail Agency welcomed the partners who play a major role in raising the level of Rail Agency services by means of exchanging views to reach optimal solutions in the public interest and bolster public transport in the Emirate of Dubai.

Engineer Adnan Al Hammadi along with engineer Abdul Redha Abu Al Hassan, responded to questions raised by the strategic partners and briefed them on the key assignments carried out by both the Rail Agency and Rail Planning and Development Dep’t to promote mass transport through the Dubai Metro project. In this context, the Director of Rail Planning and Development stressed the vital role of partners in drawing up plans and developing programs to develop rail transport sector.

A visual presentation was then conducted featuring the present and future projects of Rail Agency, and highlighting the most important lessons learned from the implementation of the Dubai Metro Project; one of the largest projects throughout the region. The presentation also touched on the programs undertaken by the Rail Agency to improve the metro services and increase the metro ridership in future.

In conclusion, the CEO of Rail Agency commended the role of strategic partners along with the achievements made so far in laying the infrastructure of rail projects. He noted that RTA could not have achieved its intended objectives and plans, without the concerted efforts of its strategic partners. He wished them every success in making joint efforts towards sustaining the leading position of mass transport in the emirate of Dubai and embedding the culture of public transport in the best interest and welfare of Dubai residents.
