Revealed: Most crowded Dubai Metro station

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced in a media statement on Tuesday that the Dubai Metro, comprising the Red and Green Lines, has posted high ridership during the first quarter of this year, clocking 40,655,978 passengers, which is 22 per cent more than the 33,341,095 riders recorded for the same period last year.

Deira City Centre station on the Red Line topped passengers count, clocking 1,841,072 passengers during the period. This means that an average of 20,500 passengers board or disembark at the station every day, including on weekends, making it the busiest Metro Station in town.

Burj Khalifa – Dubai Mall Station on the Red Line ranked a close second with ridership hitting 1,813,854 passengers, or about 20,150 daily passengers boarding or getting off the Metro.

The Union Station on the Red Line came third, reporting 1,705,712 passengers, amounting to an average 19,000 passengers stepping off or getting on to the Metro through this station. More info
