Marking the advent of the 44th National Day and the Martyr Day, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has fixed the timing of various services covering customer service centers, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram, marine transit modes, driving schools, and vehicle testing & registration centers.
Ms. Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication, RTA, stated that during the National/Marty Day holiday Customers Service Centers would be closed starting from Tuesday Dec 1st and would resume duty on Sunday Dec 6th. Paid parking zones all over Dubai, except for the Fish Market parking lot and the multi-level parking terminals, would be free of charge from Dec 1st, and fees would be reactivated on Sat Dec 5th, she added.
Moaza explained the service timing of the Dubai Metro during the holiday saying: “On Dec 1st and 2nd, the Green Line stations will start service at 05:50 am up to 12:00 am (midnight), and on Dec 3rd, the service will continue up to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Fri Dec 4th, the service will run from 10:00 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Dec 5 & 6th, stations will open from 05:50 am to 12:00 am (midnight).
“On Dec 1st and 2nd, the Red Line stations will start service at 05:30 am up to 12:00 am (midnight), and on Dec 3rd, the service will continue up to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Fri Dec 4th, the service will run from 10:00 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Dec 5 & 6th, stations will open from 05:30 am to 12:00 am (midnight),” she said.
Moaza announced the service timing of the Dubai Tram during the National/Marty Day holiday saying: “From the 1st to 3rd of Dec, the Dubai Tram will start service at 06:30 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Fri Dec 4th, the service will run from 09:00 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day). On Dec 5 & 6th, the service will run from 06:30 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day).”
She also detailed the service timing of public buses during the forthcoming holiday saying: “From the 1st to 3rd of Dec, Main Stations of public buses, such as the Gold Souk, will start bus service from 04:25 am up to 01:00 am (of the following day). Al Ghubaiba Station will offer service from 05:00 am up to 12:10 am (past midnight). Subsidiary Stations, such as Satwa, will start service from 05:00 am up to 11:15 pm, except for C01 Route which offers 24/7 service. Al Qusais Station will open at 04:40 am up to 10:50 pm, Al Quoz Industrial Station will open from 05:00 am up to 11:35 pm, and Jebel Ali Station will open from 05:45 am to 09:45 pm.
“The Metro Feeder bus service at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, Burj Khalifa, Etisalat and Abu Hail Stations, will open at 05:15 am up to 01:10 am (on the following day). The timing of feeder bus service will be synchronized with the timing of the metro services.
“The Inter-city Bus service at main stations such as Al Ghubaiba will be operating around the clock to offer services to Sharjah (Jubail Station), and from 05:00 am up to 11:40 pm to Abu Dhabi. Subsidiary Stations, such as Sabkha, will offer intercity-bus service from 06:00 am up to 01:30 (on the following day), whereas Deira City Center Station will operate from 05:30 am to 11:35 pm, and Karama Station will open from 06:10 am up to 10:20 pm.
“External Stations, such as Ajman Route, will start at 04:30 am and continue up to 11:30 pm. Fujairah Route will start service at 06:00 am up to 10:05 pm, and Hatta Route will be on service from 06:00 am to 10:05 pm,” she noted.
Moaza detailed the operational hours of the marine transport modes stating: “The Water Bus at Marina Station will operate from 12:00 pm up to 12:00 am (midnight). The Water Taxi will offer service at Al Ghubaiba Station from 10:00 am to 06:00 pm, Marina Mall Station from 02:00 pm up to 10:00 pm, The Palm Jumeirah – Atlantis from 09:00 am up to 08:00 pm, and The Palm Jumeirah – Rixos from 11:00 am to 07:00 pm.
The Dubai Ferry will make three trips from Al Ghubaiba Station to Marina Mall at 11:00 am, 01:00 pm and 06:30 pm. There will be a one-hour trip at 03:00 pm within the Dubai Creek, and another one at 05:00 pm to the Jumeirah Beach Park. At the Marina Station, the Ferry will offer three trips Al Ghubaiba-bound trips at 11:00 am, 01:00 pm and in addition to a trip at 06:30 pm. A one-hour trip will also be operated heading to Burj Al Arab at 03:00 pm, and Atlantis Hotel at 05:00 pm.
“Electrical Abras will operate at the Global Village from 04:00 pm up to 01:00 am (on the following day), Burj Khalifa from 06:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Mamzar Station from 05:00 pm up to 01:00 am (on the following day), and Atlantis from 01:00 pm to 09:00 pm. Diesel-powered abras will offer service at Baniyas, Sabkha, Old Souk, and Al Ghubaiba) from 10:00 am to 12:00 am (midnight).
In a final remark, the Director of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication, said: “Vehicle testing and registration centers will be closed during the National/Marty Day holiday from Tues Dec 1st to Thurs Dec 3rd, and will resume duty on Sat Dec 5th 2015. More info
