RTA announces service timings for tomorrow’s holiday

DUBAI: The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the working hours for all services during the holiday marking the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), including the customer service centres, paid parking zones, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit means, driving institutes and vehicles testing and registration.

Dr. Aysha Al Busmait, director of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication, said that all customer service centres would be closed during the holiday on Thursday, and would resume duty on Sunday.

All paid parking zones in the Emirate of Dubai will be free of charge on Thursday, except for the Fish Market Parking and the multi-level parking lot. The fees system will be reactivated on Saturday, she added.

“The Dubai Metro stations will continue to receive passengers as per the applicable schedule on weekdays, i.e. from 5.30am on the Red Line, and 5.50am on the Green Line, up to 1.00am.”

The service timing of public buses will be as follows: public bus stations, including main stations such as Gold Souk, Al Ghubaiba, and subsidiary stations such as Satwa, Al Qusais, Al Quoz Industrial will be open from 6am to  midnight, and Jebel Ali Bus Station will remain open from 6am to 10pm. Bus feeder services for the Metro Stations such as Burj Khalifa station will operate from 6am to 1am whereas Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, and Ibn Battuta stations will offer services from 6am to midnight. In Abu Hail and Etisalat stations the services will be available from 6am to 10pm.

“Commercial transport and Inter-city bus stations will offer service as follows: Main stations (such as Al Ghubaiba) will be operational 24 hours, and subsidiary stations (such as Union Square and Sabkha) will offer services from 06:00 am to midnight. Buses at Deira City Centre and Karama stations will start services from 06:00 am up to 10:00 pm. External stations, such as Jubail-Bur Dubai, will be operating round the clock; Sharjah (Jubail-Deira) and Abu Dhabi services will start from 06:00 am and continue  till midnight, while Ajman and Hatta stations will offer services from 06:00 am to 10:00 pm.

In a related development, Al Busmait added that the working hours of the marine transit modes on 24-25 January will be as follows: Water Bus & Water Taxi will be in service from 10:00 am to midnight, and Dubai Ferry will offer services from 09:00 am to 07:00 pm.

“Some driving institutes, such as Emirates Institute, Belhasa Centre, and Dubai International Centre will be off during the holiday. Other centres such as Al Ahli Centre, Galadari Centre and Dubai Centre will be operating on Thursday; however, the timing of registration offices located in shopping centres will be geared to the working hours of those centres.

“Centres offering vehicles testing and registration services will be off on Thursday, and resume duty on Saturday, namely Tamam Vehicle Testing, Shamil Vehicle Testing, ENOC, Mumayyaz Vehicle Testing, Shirawi and Cars.” More info
