DUBAI: The Licensing Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has started licensing trailers and semi-trailers of trucks, a step they said is aimed at “boosting road safety and protecting public properties”.
Technical testing teams will begin with focusing on the functioning and condition of brakes, tyres, lighting system, trailer body, side guards and the suspension system.
“The step complements the RTA’s initiative aimed at enhancing the safety of heavy vehicles,” said Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, director of Vehicles Licensing at the Licensing Agency.
