The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has briefed a delegation from DP World on the best practices of Corporate Project Management (PM) Strategy as well as several other issues of relevance.
The briefing, which took place in RTA Head Office, was delivered in the context of realizing the Government’s vision in driving the corporate integration of various public departments.
Kicking start the gathering, Ms. Laila Faridoon, Executive Director, Office of the Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA, delivered an opening speech in which she welcomed the visiting delegation.
She stressed the importance of these gatherings in forging closer cooperation and sharing expertise with government and semi-government entities. “Such a drive epitomizes the policy of Dubai Government aimed at sharing knowledge, information and corporate practices between public offices with the aim of nurturing an innovative working environment in the interest of the nation,” she stated.
Afterwards, Ms. Faridoon then made, in the presence of Abdul Redha Abu Al Hasan Director of Rail Planning and Projects Development, a visual presentation covering RTA’s organization chart, vision & mission, sectors & agencies along with affiliated departments. In her presentation, Faridoon reviewed RTA’s strategy in Corporate PM, efforts made to develop a smart & mature corporate entity, along with the associated requirements in terms of support to decision taking, governance and knowledge.
The presentation covered the four structural levels of PM governance and spotlighted the management system of RTA’s project portfolios where top projects are selected based on specific criteria for setting priorities upon the start of construction works. It also reviewed the management of project programs where a team is being set up for follow-up of projects such as Expo 2020. More info
