RTA briefs Dubai Customs and DHA on Info Security practices

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received two separate delegations from Dubai Customs, and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), to brief them on the best practices & techniques adopted in the field of Information Security.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has received two separate delegations from Dubai Customs, and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), to brief them on the best practices & techniques adopted in the field of Information Security.

The move is part of RTA’s strategy aimed at stepping up coordination & cooperation with various government entities towards sharing expertise & knowledge in relevant fields.

Abdullah Al Bastaki, Director of Strategy & Technology Governance, RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector welcomed members of the visiting delegations. Al Bastaki briefed each gatherings on the vision, mission, organizational chart and key future projects of RTA. He paid tribute to such gatherings as they offer a great platform for sharing expertise and accordingly step up development and improvements across the board.

“The visits of the two delegations are part of RTA’s tradition of communicating with government and non-government entities to share knowledge in relevant fields. RTA has premium experience in the field of corporate business, and adopts the highest international standards rendering it a role model for various entities.

RTA is keen on adopting advanced scientific methods in the field of information technology, applying IT in serving strategic objectives, and sharing expertise with local entities in Dubai and the UAE. We pride ourselves in transforming RTA’s experience to public departments in the UAE in a bid to improve on the administrative, cognitive and informational levels. Carrying out benchmarks with local government offices is aimed at diffusing the culture of excellence and broadcasting successful experiences,” he added.

The meetings included visual presentations delivered by Ali Ibrahim Al Qassab, Senior Manager, Information Security, Strategy & Technology Governance Department, highlighting the methodology adopted in implementing the standards & controls of information security of Dubai Government issued by Dubai Electronic Security Center. It also covered the procedures adopted for qualifying RTA to ISO 27001 dedicated to Information Security, and the effective mechanism adopted for the governance of technological systems applied in RTA.

At the conclusion of the gatherings, the two delegates praised RTA’s information technology experience, and the advanced procedures adopted in this vital field for corporate performance. They stressed the massive benefits drawn from this visit. More info
