RTA Briefs Two Delegations from ENOC and Dubai Municipality on Best Practices in Information Technology

The Information Technology Department at the Corporate Technical Support Services Sector of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) received two delegations from ENOC (the Emirates National Oil Company) and Dubai Municipality to brief them on the mechanism used in management and the best practices and regulations in order to exchange joint expertise to develop work in conformity with the highest international standards.  

Mr. Abdulla Al Bastaki, Director of the Information Technology at the Authority highlighted the continuous visits between the administration and various external agencies whether government or private which contribute to the deepening of relations in order to enhance work to reach the highest degrees of quality and excellence, as well as such visits significantly assist in the exchange of expertise and shared experiences that lead to the desired development which is in line with the vision and mission of the Authority.

He added: The Information Technology Department is keen to adopt and apply the best standards and leading practices related to both local or global knowledge which strengthen its role in the area of support and information technology sector in all fields related to information security and geographic information system and e-governance, infrastructure, system and information technology services, technical excellence in addition to development and support of applications and strategy field.

During the meeting, a visual presentation which addressed the organizational structure of the sector and various departments, tasks and responsibilities of the management of information technology and operations, and the best practices related to the organization of its work and functions was delivered, along with the strategy followed in the privatization processes of technical support, as well as briefing the delegations on the corporate design initiative and how to develop applications and quality assurance.

For their part, the two delegations praised the continuous communication with the Authority which contributes positively to the exchange and strengthening of experiences, and the activation of the joint programs to bring them to the highest degree of excellence, stressing that cooperation between the society’s institutions is the first foundation in the success of the work, which emphasizes the implementation of the senior leadership’s vision that urges all members of society on the collective cooperation and teamwork.
