The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced its participation in Zayed Humanitarian Day events corresponding to 19th of Ramadan; marking this year 2015 the 11th anniversary of the demise of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
To mark the event, the RTA hosted a journey for a number of orphans in Dubai to KidZania in collaboration with Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation in Dubai. The move comes in line with the UAE Initiative for Connection with Orphans and Minors launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The RTA has also paid field visits of 15 inpatients at Rashid Hospital.
Ms. Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, RTA, said: “Our cooperation with the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation included hosting 20 orphans in a journey to the Kids Fun Learning Center (KidZania) in Dubai Mall; where orphans spent fun-packed enjoyable moments, and went back laden with useful electronic educational gifts.
“The RTA has also visited 15 bed-ridden patients at Rashid Hospital to soothe their sufferings and console their painful experience in a bid to cheer them up during Ramadan; a month of solidarity and compassion. The step also echoes RTA’s commitment to live up to its social responsibility on this great occasion,” she noted.
“Zayed Humanitarian Day illustrates the deeply rooted traditions of the year-long charitable & humanitarian activities in the UAE, and cements the high profile of the state in this at regional & international levels,” added the Director of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication.
It is worth mentioning that RTA’s visiting team also includes Mohamad Obeid Al Mulla, RTA’s Member of Board of Executive Directors and Abdul Mohsen Younes Ibrahim, CEO of RTA’s Strategy and Corporate Governance. More info
