The Roads and Transport Authority RTA announced its support to the UAE Water Aid Suqia Al-Emarat initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, by donating AED2.5 million, in compliance with the directives of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, to all local government departments and entities to participate and interact with the initiative.
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, said: “HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the pioneer of humanitarian & charitable activities, and HH had frequently launched several humanitarian & social initiatives to serve disadvantaged people worldwide. In this context “Dubai Cares” initiative was launched to support & spread literacy in poor countries, followed by Noor Dubai campaign aimed at combating blindness globally, and Kiswa initiative aimed at dressing one million needy children.
This initiative in fact supplements & echoes the Giving drive of the UAE initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”
“Starting from yesterday, a campaign kicked off within and outside the RTA to encourage employees, RTA customers and community members to actively participate in the campaign. At the internal level, the RTA placed boxes for collecting donations from employees, sent e-mail & text messages to employees, and placed paper & e-posters in various locations and systems of the RTA.
At the external level, the RTA sent e-mail and text messages to customers and displayed the Campaign’s logo along with the procedure of making contributions on the screens of the metro carriages, metro stations, buses, bus stations, ticketing machines, customers service centers and the outdoor billboard at the Sheikh Zayed Road. It has also wrapped 10 buses and 20 taxicabs with the logo of the campaign, besides sending various messages through RTA’s accounts in various social media networks. The campaign will roll on up to Ramadan 19th, where proceeds will be credited to the account of the UAE Water Aid. More info
