Whot is NOL card
To travel on the metro you need to buy a NOL card or a NOL Ticket
There are 5 options available, find out which one will suit you best on the next page. It’s easy to buy or top-up a card, or add trips to your Red Nol ticket, just go to a ticket vending machine, ticket office or RTA authorised sales agent.
Step 4 shows you their locations in Dubai. Red Ticket can be topped up at any ticket office machine or vending machine only , top up is not available in the sales. Each time you travel, tap your card at the card reader on the fare gates and it will automatically deduct the correct fare. It’s easy!

NOL Silver Card
For frequent travellers
- Has an e-purse, which deducts the correct fare automatically.
- An Anonymous card with an e-purse that can be loaded with up to AED 1000 and is valid for 5 years
- Can be used immediately and top-up at any ticket vending machine, metro ticket office or online (for registered card).
Nol Gold Card
For those who want first class travel
- Holds up to AED 1,000 worth of credit and is valid for 5 years.
- Has an e-purse, which deducts the correct fare automatically.
- Can be used immediately and top-up at any ticket vending machine, metro ticket office or online (for registered card).
- When used on other modes of transport with no Gold Class Cabins, the user will be charged the standard fare.
- Allows the privilege of using Gold Class cabins on the Metro and Tram.
Nol Blue Card
A secure, personal card for frequent travellers
- Receive SMS notifications related to confirmation of services and/or required instructions. (soon)
- More features such as loyalty points program, auto top up facility.
- Secure online services for top-up credit, viewing full transaction history and report a lost or stolen card.
- Has an e-purse, which deducts the correct fare automatically.
- Personalised card with the user’s photo. discounts for students, senior citizens and people with disabilities.*
- Holds up to AED 5000 worth of credit and is valid for 5 years.
- Personalised card with the user’s photo.
- Enjoy the facility to register online and will be delivered within 10 working days.
Nol Red Ticket
For tourists and visitors
- Paper ticket costs AED2 with at least 1 trip to be loaded and valid for 90 days.
- Rechargeable for use of a maximum of 10 journeys or 5 daily passes
- The same ticket can be used for Metro, Tram and Buses – there’s no need to get another new ticket
- Daily pass allows an unlimited number of trips during a single day. (at cost of AED 20 for the pass and AED 2 for the ticket)
- Ideal for occasional or casual users of public transport.
- Does not have an e-purse account available and must be pre-paid with the correct journey type, based on the zones to be traveled.
Personalized Gold
Personalized first class travel
- When used on other modes of transport with no Gold Class Cabins, the user will be charged the standard fare.
- Allows the privilege of using Gold Class cabin on the Metro and Tram
- Can be used immediately and topped up at any ticket office and Ticket Vending Machine.
