The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ‘Watani’ program to boost their cooperative relationships towards supporting the national identity, and diffusing the community culture & development in the public interest of the two parties and the strategic objectives of the federal government.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the RTA by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA, and on behalf of Watani program by H.E. Dhirar Belhol Al Falasi, Director General of the Program, in the presence of Yousef Al Rida, CEO of RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector; Ahmed Al Hammadi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation cum Head of National Identity Team in the RTA; in addition to a host of directors from both parties.
Based on the MoU, the RTA will provide the essential data, lend support to ‘Abaad’ project undertaken by Watani program, allot spaces in RTA publications for posting topics oriented to boost the national identity and community development, and participate in various events held by the Program. Both parties will support the projects & studies related to boosting the national identity and community development, hold courses & workshops dedicated to the national identity, and offer heritage and linguistic consultations to events and activities held by the Program.
Under the MoU, Watani program will hold activities that include conferences, seminars and training workshops to promote the national identity, provide printed materials & messages oriented to enhancing the national identity, community development as well as the value of school safety across the UAE. It will also provide the material required for bolstering the national identity and developing the community nation-wide through exhibitions & events in which RTA takes part or holds.
Al Tayer reiterated RTA’s commitment to support events & programs aimed at imparting the values of loyalty to the nation and prudent leadership, and diffusing the national culture among citizens and residents of the UAE.
He renewed RTA’s keenness to host and support various national events considering it a national duty of all entities and individuals living in the UAE. He added that the RTA would commit all resources for the success of the initiatives, projects and plans of Watani program in order to assist the achievement of the Program’s objectives in advancing the national identity and practices of good citizenship across all community segments.

Dhirar Belhol said: “All of us are partners in serving the nation and we feel delighted with the signing of this MoU with the RTA as it reflects a high community sense on the part of the RTA and perception of the importance of boosting the concept of sticking to the UAE national identity. It also underscores RTA’s keenness to coach the practices of good citizenship as well as the norms of the Emirati community, and reflects its appreciation of the important role of government entities in delivering & diffusing these concepts in all spectrums of community members.” More info
