The Drivers Licensing Dep’t, Licensing Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently launched a new service for drivers enabling them to obtain a Driver’s Performance Certificate; an official document comprising a detailed report of all traffic offences committed during the last two years.
The objective of this step is to give drivers the opportunity to further improve their driving performance and raise their compliance with the traffic laws.
Sultan Al Marzooqi, Director of RTA Drivers Licensing, said, “The Licensing Agency is diligently seeking to launch a wide range of services to its clientele, who are the center of its strategic plans, which aim at making driving safer.”
“Issuing such a document, which is certified by the Licensing Agency, offers an opportunity for insurance companies to review drivers performance on roads and the extent of their compliance with traffic laws, thus enabling insurers to offer hard-working drivers substantial discounts upon renewing their vehicle insurance, in a bid to encourage them to sustain their compliance with traffic rules, and road safety as well as the safety of other road users. This will help us achieve our objectives of minimising traffic accidents on the one hand, and advocating disciplined driving as a lifestyle, on the other,” added Al Marzouqi.
Al Marzouqi also noted that the internationally applicable Drivers’ Performance Certificate “offers an opportunity to the ideal driver to qualify for a suitable driving career in various companies and institutions, as it is referred to as a Certificate of Good Conduct”.
It is worth-mentioning that Drivers’ Performance Certificate can be obtained from the RTA’s Customer Service Centers in the Emirate of Dubai, or via RTA’s website (www.rta.ae), where it can then be validated by the concerned parties. More info
