DUBAI — The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is considering the introduction of additional services on the public transport fare card — the Nol Card.
The card was launched more than three months ago, coinciding with the start of Dubai Metro, but can also be used on buses and other means of public transport.
An RTA delegation, headed by Abdullah Al Madani, CEO of Corporate Technical Support Services Sector at RTA, recently visited the card’s production centre in Hong Kong and discussed increasing services on the card.
“During the visit we reviewed the use of the card for services that go beyond transportation uses, and the future technologies relating to card production and reading,” Al Madani said in a statement. He did not specify what extra services could be added.
