RTA shares asset management practices with FEWA

The Asset Management Department of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) briefed a visiting delegation from the Federal Electricity & Water Authority (FEWA) about the practices used in managing RTA assets; which are aligned with the highest international standards. The visit aimed at exchanging expertise and upgrading the business process.

The delegation was received by the CEO of RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector Abdullah Al Madani, who stressed the importance of interaction between various community organizations with a view to sharing expertise, and improving the business techniques under the overall objective of achieving excellence. He reiterated that such a drive concurs with our vision of delivering top-notch services in a creative platform featuring improved processes, cutting-edge technologies and optimal utilization of assets & properties.

During the meeting Udai Al Deesi, Director of RTA Assets, made a visual presentation during which he reviewed RTA asset management practices adopted since the Department was established in 2009 as an independent unit dedicated to the management of all RTA assets to bring at par with the highest standards applicable worldwide. He also gave a full briefing about the business process in the Dep’t along with its organization chart, roles & responsibilities, core objectives linked to RTA Strategic Plan, and how the work team is endeavouring to enhance the business tasks to realize asset sustainability.

The meeting included an elaborate detail of the asset management system and the international certification awarded to the RTA (Pass 55); which made the RTA a focal point to several departments & authorities in the UAE interested in benefiting from its expertise and identifying the mechanism meriting the RTA to scoop this prestigious international certificate.

A brief account was also made about RTA Strategic Plan; where the Dep’t would be attending to its implementation over the next few years through improving the utilization of assets with the aim of realizing the objectives sought by the RTA in terms of saving expenditures and augmenting revenues.

For his part Abdul Rahim Yousef Ahmed, Executive Director of Supply, FEWA, commended the positive attitudes of the RTA towards maintaining communication and cooperation with other community organizations; which provides a great opportunity for exchanging expertise and reviewing the best programs in place with the aim of shoring up the business excellence and raising the profile of Dubai Emirate.
