RTA Showcases Terhaal Initiative In Arabian Travel Market

As part of its participation in the Arabian Travel Market 2011, the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) exhibited Terhaal program.

Dubai metroAn integrated package of vital information and important means needed by visitors and tourists coming to Dubai from all of the world with a view to bringing about a genuine integration of mass transit modes and ensuring their availability for tourists from the moment they board the plane up to their arrival in Dubai Airport such that they can find upon arrival an integrated network of public transport spanning the metro, public buses, water bus and water taxi. Additionally, the visitors will find these means safe, accessible and comfortable in traveling around, and will be treated to an advanced infrastructure, sterling facilities and classy services at hand.

“Through launching this initiative, RTA is aiming to ease the mobility of tourists within Dubai to make their visit to the city a memorable experience, besides contributing to boosting the tourist movement in the Emirate,” said Dr. Aysha Al Busmait, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication, Acting Director of Customer Service Center.

“Terhaal package includes two Nol cards of 16 dirham apiece, leaflets about the integrated public transport network, maps, tourist data (such as information & places need to be known by visitors & tourists), general information (such as emergency, police, embassies, and ambulance services among others), purchase vouchers and discounted offers from the RTA and its strategic partners,” said Dr. Aysha.

“Terhaal program was distributed in the Dubai Duty Free outlets at Dubai airports, as well as malls, DNATA offices, and other vital areas of interest to tourists in addition to the Dubai-bound Emirates airline flights.

“The package is sold for 65 dirham; which is about less than half the price usually paid by the tourist for obtaining this package independently; which is about 200 dirham.

“Visitors of the Arabian Travel Market have shown great interest in buying the Terhaal Program; which means that this initiative has made great successes and received huge response from visitors and tourists heading to Dubai from all parts of the globe,” said Dr. Aysha Al Busmait in a final remark.
