RTA to hold third online licence plate auction

Dubai: The Licensing Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai will launch its third online auction of distinguished number plates for vehicles from January 21.

Around 500 distinguished number plates with ‘G’ and ‘J’ codes will be offered in the online auction, which will continue for a week.

Those interested must register through the RTA portal. They are also required to have a traffic file opened at the vehicle registration offices of the RTA’s Licensing Agency.

Each participant must pay a Dh5,000 refundable deposit, which can be paid at the RTA website and by cheque at the Licensing Agency customer service centre in Deira.
