DUBAI – Six new bus routes, commencing from Ibn Battuta Metro Station as feeder service to Dubai Metro, will be launched today, a top official in the Public Transport Agency said on Saturday.
“RTA is keen on widening public transport network to cope with the urban and demographic expansion of the emirate. Metro stations feeder bus service is one of the strategic initiatives and prime pillars of the drive to boost the share of public transport modes in the number of person trips made as it contributes to enticing more commuters across the community segments to use public transport in their daily travels,” said Essa Al Dossari, CEO of the agency.
Among the new routes is F41, which will connect Ibn Battuta Metro Station to Jumeirah Island and pass through several areas, including Jebel Ali Gardens (1, 2, 3). Six buses will run on this route from Sunday to Thursday, four on Friday and six on Saturday at 10-minute intervals (headway).
Route F43 will serve areas such as Jebel Ali Gardens and Discovery Gardens. Five buses will run on this route from Sunday to Thursday, three on Friday and four on Saturday at 10-minute intervals.
Route F44 Route will serve Jebel Ali Gardens area with four buses running from Sunday to Thursday, two on Friday and three on Saturday at 10-minute intervals.
The other three routes will shuttle between Ibn Battuta Metro Station and Dubai Lagoons passing through The Green Community and Dubai Investment Park.
Already Route F50 is serving commuters between Ibn Battuta Metro Station and Jebel Ali Bus Station, passing through several locations in the vicinity of JAFZA.
Also, Route F53 provides shuttle service from Ibn Battuta Metro Station to Dubai Industrial City, passing through Jebel Ali Industrial areas
