DUBAI — Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), recently attended a ceremony marking the seventh anniversary of the RTA held under the theme ‘Humans Matter Most’ in the presence of a host of CEOs, Directors and staff of the RTA.

In a speech, Al Tayer stressed that the phenomenal achievements made by the RTA over the last seven years were the manifestation of the directives, unlimited support and close follow-up by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Vice Chairman of the Executive Council.

Al Tayer announced the launch of three new initiatives aimed at bolstering the Emiratisation drive in the RTA in-keeping with the directives of Shaikh Mohammed to assign top priority to Emiratisation, and the ‘Mohammed bin Rashid Emiratisation Award’.

RTA initiatives also encompass the ‘New Manager’s Programme’, focusing on empowering Emiratis, ‘Leading Emiratisation Programme’, and ‘Tomorrow’s Treasures Initiative’.

The Emiratisation rate of leading positions in the RTA touched 85 per cent, covering 100 per cent of CEO posts, 94 per cent of director posts, and 82 per cent of manager posts.

“We opted to go for ‘Humans Matter Most’ as a theme for the programme in conformity with the directives of Shaikh Mohammed who said: ‘It is not the place that matters, it is rather the human’,” Al Tayer said.

He said the vision of Shaikh Mohammed is what makes Dubai stand out from other cosmopolitan cities as he assigns top priority to human interests.
