The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has exhibited in Gitex 2015 updates made to ‘RTA DUBAI’ app to make it a comprehensive reference to the most frequent services used by individuals in keeping with the Smart City initiative of the Dubai Government.
Abdullah Al Bastaki, Director of IT, Corporate Technical Support Services Sector cum Head of Smart Transformation Team at RTA, said: “Our keenness to improve ‘RTA DUBAI’ app stems from RTA’s commitment to keep pace with the Smart Government initiative through enabling individuals to make the most of our services, particularly roads and public transport users.
The latest update of the app focuses on further addressing of our customer needs. In this regard, RTA has adopted the best global practices in engaging customers in designing the services we are now offering through the app. To ensure this, RTA held brainstorming sessions with individuals and made questionnaires to identify their needs and expectations of RTA’s smart services. The app has a dashboard through which the customer can review all services required. The update focused on the most frequently used or sought-after services in order to save customers’ time in availing our services.
The ‘RTA DUBAI’ is an interactive app comprising a menu of services tailor-made to support the mobility experience of public transport users via smartphones. On the top of these services comes the payment of parking fees, reminding the customer of the place of the parked vehicle, top-up of Salik account, inquiry about NOL card balance, and inquiry about offences,” explained Al Bastaki.
“RTA’s app has a knowledge feature named ‘Innovation Corner’ to help our customers review the latest developments of innovation and technologies applied by RTA. It also includes Madinati system addressing complaints of the public relating to any emergency road works. RTA spares no effort to adopt the latest practices to improve services through updating its smart apps to raise customers’ satisfaction and bring happiness to people.
“RTA DUBAI app will soon witness more innovative features and new services,” said Al Bastaki who called on the public to update the app in their smartphones, and submit proposals and ideas for further improvements. Al Bastaki concluded his statement by reiterating RTA’s full attention and care to the views of its clientele. More info
