As Dubai Metro‘s Green Line launch nears Sharjah Transport Corporation (STC) has deployed buses ferrying passengers to the same area.

Dubai metroThe routes are No.113, Sharjah-Al Qusais and No.111 that commences from Sharjah International Airport linking Dubai, reports ‘Gulf Today’.

Route No.111 has had new stops added three days ago and now its services are available at the Sajaa area, the 5th Industrial Square in Sharjah, as well as Al Qusais Dubai Metro Station and Deira in Dubai.

Early this year, the only route that was easily linking passengers from Sharjah to the Dubai Metro, the Al Jubail Bus Station-Rashidiya, was abolished by the Roads and Transport Authority in conjunction with the STC for what they called “agencies’ study of the demand on the routes.”

The STC’s link to Al Qusais will still only link passengers to the Green Line but not the Red Line. The 23km Green Line is an intra network but joins the 52km Red Line at the stations of Al Ittihad and Khaled Bin Waleed.

Last week, the STC had introduced new bus stops for lifting passengers and had begun selling tickets for buses heading to Dubai: No.113, Sharjah-Al Qusais and No.308, Sharjah-Jebel Ali-Al Qouz.

The spots are at the First Industrial Road, the Third (J&P) the Tenth (Gecko), the Eleventh (Roundabout Bin Laden), and the Fifteenth (the National Paints).”

Other two points were added on King Faisal Street for buses No.308 heading to Jebel Ali, Al Quoz. The areas are at Petrol Station ADNOC, and Emax, while along Al Wahda Street three bus stops were added at the City Centre; Max, and at Al Khan Bridge of the same route.
