More than 900 air-conditioned bus shelters have been constructed at bus stops all over Dubai, bus depots at Al Awir, Al Rawiyya, Al Khawaneej and Jebel Ali have been completed, and the water transport witnessed the operation of the water bus, water taxi, and Dubai ferry besides retrofitting 154 abras.
Traditional bus shelters needed
In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority has provided 900 air-conditioned bus shelters to let passengers wait in cool comfort till their buses arrive. But while these are a welcome addition, more than 100 of these modern bus shelters are not functioning properly, turning the aluminium and glass-frame structures into virtual ovens.
