The Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in the presence of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, launched the Dubai Metro's green line experimental operational phase. Sheikh Mohammed boarded the metro from the Dubai Healthcare City in a trip that took him to Khalid bin Waleed, Al Ghubaiba, Al Ras and Al Ittihad Stations, where the green and red line meet. He continued his trip from Al Ittihad station to Police Headquarters Station to the last Etisalat Station in Al Qusais district.

At Dubai Healthcare City station, construction works have reached an advanced stage, with the internal finishing works at 55% and electro-mechanical works at 65%. At Al Ras and Al Ghubaiba stations, construction and civil works have been fully completed, as are the metal structures and platform doors. Completion of the finishing works in the two stations ranges from 55% to 70%, whereas the completion of electro-mechanical works ranges from 65 to 75%.

H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board & Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), announced that RTA had completed the construction works in most stations on the Green Line of the Dubai Metro, following the full completion of the 23-km long track extending along the Green Line.
