Dubai Metro Transports 33.3 Million Commuters in the First Quarter of...
During the first quarter of 2013, Dubai Metro managed to achieve a significant increase in the number of its commuters compared to the same period last year; as the number of commuters of both Red and Green lines increased to around 33 million and 341 thousand and 95 since January throughout March 2013, this indicates the significance of the Metro to the whole society as the best used means of transportation.
Dubai Ruler inaugurates metro Green Line
The RTA is hoping that with the opening of the Green Line and the future opening of the Al Sufouh Tram, the market share of public transport users will rise to 30 per cent per cent. Mr Al Tayer said that between 11 and 12 per cent of that 30 per cent will be carried by the Metro, 6 to 9 per cent by bus, and the remainder by taxis and marine transport.
Mohammed to inaugurate Dubai Metro Green Line on 9/9/2011
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will launch on September 9, 2011, the official operation of the Dubai Metro Green Line; which stretches 23 km and comprises 18 stations in addition to the two transfer stations; Union and Khalid bin Al Waleed Stations shared with the Red Line.
