The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai on Wednesday announced that nearly 5.9 million people travelled on Dubai Metro during September. A press statement issued today said that the Green Line – which opened for public on Sept.10, clocked 1.277 million passengers in just 20 days whereas the number of riders on the Red Line during September (30 days) hit 4,661,469 passengers.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), revealed that mass transit modes in Dubai comprising Dubai Metro, public buses, water transport and taxicabs, have lifted in the first half of this year 180,544,372 passengers.

RTA will allocate spaces at the Dubai Metro Stations to install DHLs parcels and documents postal system initially at Khalid bin Al Waleed station and Deira City Center station and the service is set to cover other metro stations later on, according to Adnan Al Hamadi, CEO of RTA Rail Agency.
