12th Airport Show in Dubai opened
With their eyes set on tapping the huge business prospects offered by the multi-million dollar expansions of airports in the Middle East region in general and GCC states in particular, the world’s leading aviation companies have made a significant presence at the 12th edition of the Airport Show which was opened on Tuesday Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and Chairman of Dubai Airports.
Dubai Metro helps boost property value by 34%
Abdul Mohsin Younes, CEO of RTA Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector said: “The RTA Strategic Planning Department studied the impact of the metro stations on the surrounding lands and properties in coordination with the Dubai Real Estate Regulatory Agency, or RERA, which provided the data about the rates of lands and properties in areas close or far from the metro stations.”
DSF harnesses online power
According to Dubai Events, the total number of visits between December 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012 to the website reached 61,750 with 79.29 per cent of the visits being unique. In the run-up to DSF, visits to the website featuring the festivals events increased by 20 per cent.

Dubai International posts surge in traffic; new airport hotel opens
In other Dubai Airport news, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Ishraq Gulf Real Estate Holding Co have opened the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport. The 381-room hotel is the largest Holiday Inn Express in Europe, Middle East and Africa, and the fourth property to open in Dubai. It is located opposite Terminal 3 and adjacent to the Dubai Metro.
