The Roads and Transport Authority RTA announced the timings of its different services during Eid al-Fitr holiday covering customer service centers, car parks, public buses, Dubai Metro, marine transit modes, driving institutes, and vehicles testing registration centers.

The Forum was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the General Authority of Tourism and Antiquities; Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah Kamel, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeddah, and a number of dignitaries.

The Marine Transit means constitute a key ingredient of mass transit means network in Dubai Emirate; billed as a reputable cosmopolitan destination for tourists and visitors hailing from all over the globe, and these modes are being used by residents of the Emirate in particular and populace of the UAE in general.

The Public Transport Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) launched at the advent of February the “One Day in Dubai,” initiative, a new fare saving public transportation package, which allows the passenger to experience all public transport modes and visit most attractive areas in new and old Dubai.

The Public Transport Agency at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently awarded a 3-year contract with Drydocks World, covering the maintenance of marine transit modes, namely the Dubai Ferry, Water Bus, and the Water Taxi with the aim of realizing RTA’s strategic goals through providing better services and maintenance capable of improving performance and sustainability of assets.

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is seeking to open up new horizons and introduce its marine transit capabilities to relevant global entities operating in this field, given the attractive tourists potentials boasted by the Emirate of Dubai and the advanced marine transit network in place.

The number of passengers using water transport in Dubai, which include abras, Dubai Ferry, water taxi and water bus, is expected to hit 14 million by the year end, said Essa Al Dossari, Executive Director of the Public Transport Agency, an affiliate to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Various means of marine transport have lifted as many as 6.9 million passengers over the first half of this year, said Al Dossari.
