RTA starts two bus routes to Tecom free zones
Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced two new bus routes
--Route 83 and Route 85 -- that will connect Tecom free zones Dubai Internet
City (DIC), Dubai Media City (DMC) and Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) to Karama
and Discovery Gardens respectively. The buses operating on the new routes can cut down the commuting time for
office-goers within the free zones by almost 50 per cent. The timings of the two
bus routes take into account the peak hours.

Dubai Metro breaks most passengers in one day record
More than 100,000 passengers were lifted on the Dubai Metro in one day, the latest figures released by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Sunday have revealed.
Seven more Dubai Metro stations open
Seven more Metro stations came online as planned this afternoon, finally connecting some of the most populous parts of the city by rail. After 2pm, when the first train rolled in from Jebel Ali, customers queued at the Marina stop for the first time.
Seven more stations open on Red Line
Huge rush of commuters were seen at most of the new stations. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officials, including Adnan Al Hammadi, Acting CEO of Rail Agency, and Ramadan Abdullah, Director of Operations, were visiting stations to ensure smooth launching of the new stations.
New facilities add zing to Metro
The seven new stations opening today would be: Emirates, Airport Terminal 1, Al Karama, Emirates Towers, Dubai Internet City, Marina and Ibn Battuta. Three other stations scheduled to open on May 15 are: GGICO, World Trade Centre and Al Qouz.
No silver Nol cards for now
As seven new stations on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro open on Friday, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has run out of Silver Nol Cards — the most popular economy class prepaid travel card used on public transport.

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to open tomorrow, Friday, seven new metro stations; namely: Emirates, Airport Terminal 1, Al Karama, Emirates Towers, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Marina, and Ibn Battuta stations.
10 more Dubai Metro stations by mid-May
Mattar Al Tayer, RTA chairman, said: “The consortium undertaking Dubai Metro project is set to complete work on the remaining 18 stations on the Red Line on April 25, 2010 and seven stations — Emirates, Airport Terminal 1, Al Karama, Emirates Towers, Dubai Internet City, Marina and Ibn Battuta — will be opened on April 30, 2010.
RTA defers opening of Dubai Metro stations
The opening of Dubai Metro stations on the Red Line has once again been revised as seven more stations will open on April 30 and three additional ones on May 15.
