All works on SZR 1st Interchange completed
Mattar Al Tayer, Chairmanand Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of all construction works at the 1st Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road, which will be opened for traffic by the end of January 2011, a statement said.
Public Transport Day initiative on Nov 1st
The day will be marked with a free use of the Dubai Metro, public buses and water bus for Nol card holders. The second round of the initiative is set to be widely popular among public and private entities as well as all community segments.

Public transport ridership clocked 332m passengers in 2010
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has revealed that RTA mass transit means, comprising the Dubai Metro, public buses, marine transit modes and taxis, have lifted more than 332 million passengers in 2010, compared to 288.777 million passengers in 2009. The average number of daily riders in 2010 was about 957 thousand persons compared to 800 thousand persons in 2009.

With more than 1 million registered vehicles serving 1.9 million population, Dubai has one car for every two residents , according to Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) 2010 data.
More areas become paid parking zones in Dubai
Residents in some parts of Umm Ramool and Al Garhoud were shocked to know on Tuesday that their areas are the latest to be converted into paid parking zones.
