The Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), is tip-top ready for offering its services in support of Eid Al-Adha events this year; a testament to its commitment to the community in offering a convenient and safe transit experience for all residents, visitors and tourists of the Dubai Emirate.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has launched the Journey Planner (Wojhati) application for smart-phone users, providing real time and detailed information about integrated transit plans on public transit modes available in the Emirate in a way enabling customers smooth and speedy access to their destinations.

The Roads & Transport Authority has finalized preparations of its Operational Plan of Mass Transit Means; which comprises the Dubai Metro, public buses and taxis, as well as the management of traffic movement at sites witnessing events in Dubai Emirate during Eid al-Adha holiday. The plan has been developed in response to the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to expand the entertainment and shopping events in Dubai during the Eid-in-Dubai event; which runs for two weeks from 18 October to 2 November 2012.

The Dubai Metro running time has been extended by one hour to cope with the expected rush during the Eid Al Adha holiday, said a senior official at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The Metro's operating hours will be from 6am to 1am from Monday to November 20.
