Mohammed to inaugurate Dubai Metro Green Line on 9/9/2011
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, will launch on September 9, 2011, the official operation of the Dubai Metro Green Line; which stretches 23 km and comprises 18 stations in addition to the two transfer stations; Union and Khalid bin Al Waleed Stations shared with the Red Line.

Dubai Metro's Green Line gets green light
The 23-kilometre Green Line, which starts at the Etisalat Station in Al Qusais near Emirates Road, will be missing two stops at first: the Al Jadaf and Creek stations. Those facilities are not scheduled to open because property projects in the area are not complete.

Quashing rumours of further delay in the opening of the Green Line, Abdul Mohsin Ebrahim Younus, CEO of Strategy and Corporate Governance at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said there would be no further delay as the construction work would be completed in August according to revised plans.
Free rides in Dubai on November 1
On the fifth anniversary of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), all NOL card holders can enjoy free rides on the Metro, waterbuses and city buses. The announcement was made by Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the and Executive Director of the RTA while addressing the 125th anniversary of the International Association of Public Transport in Brussels, reported Gulf News. NOL cards can be used on any of the RTA transport facilities.
