Four express trains to ply on Red Line from today
The express trains will start operating at 5.30am, 20 minutes earlier than the actual operation time of the metro’s regular service, from Jebel Ali and Al Rashidiya stations. Each train will stop only at 13 main stations in both directions instead of 27, and they are Al Rashidiya, Emirates, Al Rigga, Union, Khalid Bin Al Waleed, Al Karama, Al Jafiliya, Emirates Towers, Noor Islamic Bank, First Gulf Bank, Dubai Internet City, Ibn Battuta and Jebel Ali stations, he added.
RTA set to slash metro trip time next October
From the start of next October, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is poised to reduce the trip time of the Dubai Metro Red Line by offering two services on a trial basis for a period of 5 months in a bid to better serve the interest of the Metro users such that they can arrive at their work places in a speedy and hassle-free way.

Following the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) recently; First Gulf Bank has inaugurated today its new metro station in the presence of Mr. Andre Sayegh, CEO of FGB and other seniors from the bank. The metro station is located on Sheikh Zayed Road and is in close proximity to the Bank's Branch offices.
Five new Metro stations to open on Friday
Just five months after adding 10 new stations to the previously operating number of 11, the RTA is gearing up to open five strategically located stops this Friday. Supported by 28 new feeder buses on 6 new routes, the five stations — Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Nakheel, Sharaf DG, First Gulf Bank and Business Bay — are seen as additional gateways to their surrounding neighbourhoods already catered by a station nearby.
