The Dubai Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) will be presenting its strategic plans to integrate the metro with other modes of transport in the city at the 59th World Congress & Exhibition of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), a global industry event for the international transport community, taking place in Dubai from April 10-14.

The need to continue to build a strong relationship between Dubai's public and private sectors was stressed by HE Hamad Buamim, Director General, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at the first Talk Business at Breakfast meeting of 2011. The networking meeting came as part of the Chamber's strategy of providing a platform for the public and private sectors to engage in a constructive dialogue.
More trains during peak hours
The Dubai Metro will increase the number of trains during peak hours to cope with the increasing rush of passengers. In an exclusive interview with Gulf News, Abdullah said they already put more trains into service during peak hours if they become too crowded.
Two more Salik gates proposed to ease traffic
Locations for two more Salik toll gates have been identified to ease traffic congestion on Dubai roads, Gulf News has learnt. A comprehensive study on roads and traffic impact in Dubai has suggested installation of two more Salik toll gates, one on Al Ittihad road near Dubai Police headquarters and the second one in Al Ghusais.

The global industry event will promote, discuss and debate the International Organization for Public Transport's (UITP) strategy of doubling public transport market share worldwide by 2025.
The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships started again
The annual Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships started this year on the 14th of February and will end on the 26th of February. It’s the 19th edition of the event and part of the ATP-World-Tour 500 and the WTA-Tour. The event is started by the women who play from 14.-20. February and after that, the men will play from 21.-26. February. The prize money amounts altogether 4 Million US-Dollar.
