The Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently embarked on displaying enhanced designs of public bus schedules, network map and route map (single route) in Dubai Emirate. Under the new method, bus commuters will find it easier to read the timetables, review the network and check the route maps in a smooth and a handy manner.

Public transport fares halved for students and senior citizens
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will slash fares by 50 per cent for students and senior citizens from March this year, a senior official said. This discount is applicable on all public buses and Metro in the emirate of Dubai.

The consortium of firms behind Dubai’s long-awaited Al Sufouh Tram project has begun a work slowdown as cash concerns continue to plague the multibillion-dollar track. The group, which includes French conglomerate Alstom and Belgium’s Besix, has scaled back the pace of construction on the state-backed tram as discussions over refinancing continue.

Metro in Dubai
The Dubai Metro is a driverless, fully automated metro network in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. The Red Line is almost fully operational, the Green Line is under construction with trials commenced in October 2010, and 3 further lines are planned, with some doubt expressed on their feasibility following the financial downturn experienced by Dubai after September 2008.
